SUMMARY OF POSITION

Housekeeping Aides are responsible for the overall cleanliness of St. Joseph's Ministries.  In addition to their regular cleaning duties, Housekeeping Aides are also assigned special projects throughout the year. Housekeeping Aide also performs “ladder work” which includes the use of a ladder for cleaning blinds tall windows and ceiling vents and fans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

●          Performs daily housekeeping duties such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, etc. in all

areas assigned in a timely and efficient manner.

●          Service bathroom fixtures (toilets, sinks, etc.) with proper germicidal cleaner.  Fill all

            paper and soap dispensers.

●          Follows all isolation and infection control procedures, including Universal Precautions.

●          Reports any mechanical, safety, or hazardous conditions to the Housekeeping Manager

 for repair.

●          Communicates with the residents, Sisters and facility personnel in a polite and caring

            manner.

●          Works independently with minimal supervision.

●          Performs other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager, ie. Special projects,

            assisting co-workers, working on a different hall to cover for an absent co-worker, etc

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

●          Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
