Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the creation and implementation of successful sales and marketing plans to achieve census targets. Works in close collaboration with the corporate marketing department and will support the sales and occupancy goals. Direct a staff which may include sales counselors and a sales assistant. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  In collaboration with the corporate office, develop and execute marketing and public relations plans for the entire continuing care retirement community (CCRC) to achieve optimal sales/occupancy goals and meet or exceed projections.  Identify and nurture relationships with prospective residents and referral contacts within targeted market areas to increase awareness of amenities and services. Referral contacts should include but not be limited to Physicians (and staff), Social Service Departments (agencies and hospitals), Hospital Discharge Planners, Bank Trust Officers, Lawyers, Clergy, and Insurance Carriers.  Demonstrate an expertise and knowledge of current best practices in successful senior housing marketing techniques.  Achieve individual sales and marketing goals and targets (call-outs, appointments, sales, closings, etc.), in addition to ensuring that goals of sales and marketing team are achieved.  Collect and analyze data on inquiry and telemarketing activity, lead fulfillment, movein commitments, apartment inventory and attrition.  Demonstrate an expertise and knowledge of market analysis, competitive analysis and understanding of local market.  Supervise, train, mentor, monitor and promote sales team activity to achieve performance goals.  Generate weekly marketing reports utilizing lead database software quantifying contacts, tours, presentations, deposits, and sales.  Build and maintain a future resident list and incorporate this as an effective sales tool for generating referrals.  Professionally represent the organization at public and community functions and foster a positive image for the community Ascension Living – Director of Sales Page 2  Support the promotion and protection of the Ascension Living brand throughout all activities.  Work in collaboration with advertising agency and VP of Sales & Marketing, and regional sales team regarding media, public relations, and advertising.  Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE  Bachelor’s degree in a marketing or related field preferred.  Minimum of five years as a sales leader required. Sales experience within a senior living environment preferred.  Proven history of achieving and exceeding sales goals required.  Proven experience to include marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques, and sales systems. Consultative selling skills highly preferred.
