Summary Assist the Assisted Living Administrator and Assistant Administrator in managing staff; developing and adhering to organizational, operational and financial objectives; assuring maintenance of legal and accreditation compliance; improving quality results; marketing the facility and sustaining community involvement. Performs services designed to provide the physical atmosphere for the health, comfort and well-being of the residents, visitors and/or staff within ministry and budget guidelines.  This position will be located at Alexian Village of Milwaukee. Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists the AL Administrator in the overall operation by planning, implementing, managing and adhering to established financial and resident goals and insuring compliance with all state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Assists in developing and assuring maintenance of sound financial objectives by forecasting, budgeting and aligning monetary resources; developing strategic marketing goals, measuring results; initiating corrective actions; and minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Addresses and assists in resolution of conflicts or issues regarding residents, operations, and/or staff issues.
  • Responsible for assuring maintenance of and reporting of assigned operational data and financial expenditures to the Administrator and Executive Director.
  • Works in conjunction with Human Resources in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, orienting, training of competent, efficient, caring staff.
  • Reviews and evaluates departments’ labor force and makes recommendations regarding recruitment, wages and benefits, attendance, FTE’s, morale, and efficiency of those departments.
  • Develop cooperative relationships with the business community.
  • Will assume direct responsibility for all daily functions of the residence within limitations of certification and/or licensure as need arises.
  • Based on ministry needs and expertise, may assume the management and oversight of specific department(s) within Ministry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Management Responsibilities

  • Assumes operational responsibility for ministry in absence of Administrator.
  • Assists in performing those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, salary and budget administration, employee counseling and motivation, disciplinary action, organization of goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree required; bachelor's degree in social work preferred.
  • Successful management experience in the senior care environment or similar discipline.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations and reimbursement.
  • Must possess strong collaborative, interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, verbal and
  • written communication skills, and a desire to create a high-performance, effective team that
  • can produce consistent, demonstrated results.
  • Must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working
  • relationships with co-workers and ministry leadership.
  • Competencies needed for this position include strong interpersonal relationship skills, detail
  • oriented, work in collaboration with others, demonstrate a high degree of integrity and
  • personal commitment, possess strong analytical skills, be able to work independently and
  • manage multiple deliverables at the same time.
  • Ability to function in a matrix environment and demonstrate a passion to succeed be self-motivated, dependable, committed, and a willingness to see a project through to its
  • conclusion.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
