Our skilled nursing community is conveniently located just across the street from Town Center Plaza in Overland Park, Kansas. When additional therapy is needed after surgery, illness or hospital stay, we provide rehabilitation and short-term care; we also offer long-term care for residents who need a higher level of assistance in dealing with an ongoing illness, chronic medical condition or disability.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervisory: Manages training, development and performance of assigned staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate growth within the Nursing Department, relate professionally and positively to facility and departmental staff and to work cooperatively with others at all levels, and to include performance evaluations and discipline as necessary.
  • Performs assessments, develops and implements appropriate plan of care based on assessment and diagnosis tailored to meet each individuals needs with the interdisciplinary team. Evaluates the plan of care and makes necessary changes as needed. Monitors the care delivery of staff.
  • Delegates and collaborates in providing resident care according to licensure and skill levels, follows up to ensure success.
  • Documents according to current standards and established policies.
  • Ability to work independently with organizational skills, to prioritize tasks and to exercise judgment consistent with core values.
  • Ability to model effective communications between resident, family, staff, and community.
  • Must be able to identify potentially unsafe situations and to respond appropriately.
  • Responsible to know, implement and assure compliance to State, Federal or County regulations and company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Previous hospital or long term care experience preferred
  • Past supervisory experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the practicing state (which must be in good standing)
